Along 11 miles of Lake Norman’s southeastern shores are some of the lake-area’s most stunning waterfront estates that are part of the upscale Peninsula community.

The Peninsula is located along Jetton Road to the west of West Catawba Avenue and I-77. It is just minutes away from shopping and amenities. The farthest point west in The Peninsula is only 3.5 miles to West Catawba Avenue and another couple miles south to Birkdale Village and Northcross Shopping Center. Northlake Mall is also less than 20 minutes away.

A trip to metro Charlotte is approximately 20 miles, depending on where in The Peninsula you live. A daily commute into the city is possible from The Peninsula but could take 45 minutes to an hour each way, depending on traffic. Charlotte Douglas airport is approximately 23 miles via I-77 and I-485.

The Peninsula is tops for the Lake Norman area when it comes to lakeside living in luxury and style. The associated private Peninsula Club and Peninsula Yacht Club are for residents to dine, exercise or kick back and relax with friends and family.

The beautiful 18-hole Rees Jones golf course and Lake Norman are beautiful backdrops for The Peninsula Club’s restaurants. In addition, the club has 8 tennis courts and a pool with waterslide. There is bound to be something for every family member!

There are also 2 parks located just outside The Peninsula – Jetton and Ramsey Creek. They offer walking trails, picnic spots and beachy areas and are pet-friendly options.

Part of living on Lake Norman is enjoying the water and taking in some of the lake’s 520 miles of shoreline. The private yacht club offers more than 400 slips for lease for residents who do not have water access from their homes. In true luxury fashion, slips have phone/wifi capabilities, power and water and can handle boats up to 40 feet in length.

This Cape Cod-style custom home sold for $1.3 million in 2015.

While Peninsula homes can exceed the $4.5 million price mark, you don’t need to have that budget to live in the community. The prices vary widely based on where you want to live. Waterfront and golf course views are the priciest, while inland “starter” homes can be bought in the $500,000s, and those homes still have all the benefits of club access and lifestyle!

The Peninsula is a big community and it sells well. Approximately 69 homes sold there in the last 12 months or 5.7 homes per month.

Those homes averaged $992,663 and nearly $217 per square foot. Sales closed at an average of 96% of list price.

The highest price of a home sold in the last year was $2.35 million and lowest was $379,600 for a distressed sale that has since been renovated and re-listed for nearly $700,000 as of May 13.

Currently, there are 52 properties listed for sale in The Peninsula. Fourteen are under contract as of May 13. List prices range from $436,800 for a foreclosure to almost $4.4 million for a spectacular, custom waterfront estate.

The neighborhood is zoned for Cornelius Elementary School, Bailey Middle School and William Amos Hough High School.
